AKINCO Inertia come in several standard sizes as listed in our catalogue. However, these can also manufactured to any size and specifications, even for heavier and more complex vibration isolation problems, where viscous damping may also be required. For frame lengths greater than 2400 mm we would normally recommend 6 isolators or more for exceptionally large bases. The base is to be filled with concrete having a mass of between 2300 and 2700Kg / M³
When machines are mounted on properly designed inertia bases, the reduction in transmitted vibration is significant. This means less wear and tear on moving components, greater stability during operation, and fewer vibratory forces being transferred to structural supports or nearby equipment. Over time, this helps extend the operating life of the machinery and reduces the frequency and cost of maintenance interventions. By minimising disruptive movements, inertia bases also help to protect alignment, seals, and bearings, all of which are critical for the long-term reliability of pumps and similar mechanical equipment
Specifications & Construction Details
Each inertia base is engineered to provide reliable vibration isolation and robust support, making it ideal for a wide range of mechanical equipment and environments.
Typically used with vibration isolators for support and isolation of:
Inertia bases find application across a range of environments where vibration control and noise reduction are critical. These include:
Whether in a high-rise office tower, a manufacturing plant, a medical facility, or a residential development, inertia bases provide robust support and effective isolation to meet demanding operational requirements.
The inertia base frame to be laid in position on a sheet of plastic or roof felt.
Fill the frame with concrete. Tamp down the level and smooth the surface.
